Nepal Road Trip

 030This is an ECO-TOURISM travel project which means that it is as environmentally friendly as possible. As part of this unique experience you will visit 4 vastly distinctive regions and explore their exotic, unique and exciting culture.

As part of this unique Nepalese experience you will work with local communities in orphanages and teaching volunteering projects. You will visit really interesting places, such as the Bouddhanath Buddhist temple and the vast Royal Chitwan National Park.

355Enjoy a rafting adventure down the Trisuli River, a hike in rural Kathmandu, a village hike in rural Kathmandu, a rewarding 5 day trek up Poon Hill from which you will see some of the most breath taking mountain ranges in the world, body and mind sessions with Yoga and Meditation, Not to mention visits to the local markets and some great cultural introduction sessions.  16Arrive in Kathmandu and relax at our centre. Learn about the Nepalese culture through a series of introductory culture classes which are designed help you to develop your Nepalese language, skills and deepen your understanding of the Nepalese way of life complete with details on rituals and customs. Learn about Nepal’s history and the religious influences which have shaped it. Visit the local shops and markets with our staff, learning as you go what the local culture is and how to become a part of it. As part of your city tour and orientation. you will also visit some amazing sites of such as the temple of Bouddhanath: one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Kathmandu whose ancient spherical stupa dominates the skyline and is one of the largest in the world.
 15Take part in an exhilarating village hike where you can see rural day to day life (at its own relaxed pace) and see the many rice paddies and mountains. Why not enjoy some adventurous white water rafting on the scenic Trisuli River, a place where you will spend one night and two invigorating days. Then to the Royal Chiwan National Park which covers an impressive 360 square miles of land and is home to Bengal tigers and around 543 species of birds. Experience the exotic wildlife of Nepal for two nights and three days. Spend some time sight-seeing in the charming town of Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal, which is home to three of the largest mountains in the world. There is a stunning view of the Himalayas from the northern skyline here.

 44764736Begin your adventure trek up the Poon Hill (3,190m, 10,465 ft.) which is the viewpoint for two of the largest mountains in the world: Annapurna (8,091m, 26,545 ft.) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m, 26,794 ft.). This fulfilling quest will take five days and reward you with views of priceless beauty.You will receive a relaxing massage on the way back to sooth those tired muscles. You can then take part in a Yoga and Meditation session. With ample time set aside especially for some moments of profound quiet which will enable you to reflect upon on the vast and beautiful sights you have encountered and those that are yet to come.
 65259_549576165105353_1334039952_nGet stuck in to one of our volunteering projects which could be at the local school or in an orphanage, where you will be able to forge close relationships with the locals and truly feel as though you are making a valuable contribution to the lives of others in a variety of ways. The Green Lion coordinators who are specially trained will help you throughout the course of your stay in Nepal with us and provide you with reassurance and assistance when you need it.This leg of the Nepalese Road Trip is the perfect way to round of the experience of a life time. Letting you feel not only a part of the local culture but that you also gave something back to it. You will go home with a treasure chest of fantastic memories and many new lifelong friends.



During your travels, you will stay at various guesthouses and hotels. During the volunteering and adventure parts, participants will stay in our centres which are based in the community. All will have access to the basic conditions. Centres have 3-4 bedrooms which can house 12 people maximum. Rooms will be single gender in either the twin or dorm style. All are comfortable and clean with adequate toilet and bathroom facilities including hot running water and showers. A DVD player, a fridge and a TV with SKY, and a computer with WiFi are readily available for use. The Green Lion coordinators will be staying here with you. Hand washing your clothes will be a necessity. Only vegetarian food will be served. We ask that you try to be environmentally conscious, and use resources such as water and electricity with restraint. Alcohol and cigarette use should be limited at all times and is not allowed anywhere in our centres but is permitted in designated areas.
